England beat club side Platinum Stars 3-0

Monday, June 7th, 2010

England won against club side Platinum Stars 3-0, in their last run out before the World Cup match against the U.S.A on Saturday, and thankfully we have had no fresh injury worries. It was a simple win, played at half pace and very laid back.

There was an encouragingly good linkup between Wayne Rooney (who played 45 minutes) and Joe Cole (the full 90) the former setting the latter up for England’s second goal Joe Cole playing on the left allowed Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard to play together in the centre of midfield. Gerrard played in a much deeper role – basically Barry’s role – which gave Lampard free reign to stay up with the strikers. Gerrard set up Jermaine Defoe for the opening goal.

Joe Hart started in goal (though it doesn’t count as an England start as it isn’t a full international) Joe Hart got the nod to start in goal before being replaced by Robert Green at the interval, but a limited Platinum Stars side meant neither had the chance to shine.  Glen Johnson gave away a Penalty, which was blazed over the Crossbar.

Capello will have other issues to address, with both Peter Crouch and Emile Heskey producing undistinguished performances in each of their 45-minute stint as they battle to partner Rooney.

England romped to victory in a low-key affair – but hardly enough to set the pulses racing before their World Cup campaign gets under way against United States on 12 June.

Coventry Limos part of American Limousine Company are proud to sponsor our Coventry local football team Christ the King Juniors FC Under 13s who will be displaying our company logo on their new jackets..To celebrate the occasion the Coventry team arranged a photoshoot at their clubhouse on Bablake Playing fields, Coundon. Parents and players were treated to the spectacular and luxury of the company’s top of the range H2 Monster Hummer, the biggest legal 16 seater Hummer in the UK today, which has recently been tested by VOSA and given a COIF certificate (certificate of Initial Fitness) which is a legal requirement for any passenger vehicle carrying more than 8 passengers.
It was such a fantastic day giving the young footballers a tast of the big time, Limo hire and Hummer hire plays a major part with celebrity footballers such as David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, Joe Cole, Didier Drogba, Ashley Cole, John Terry, often being transported from place to place in Luxury limousine. Parents and players were treated to limo rides sampling the the football celebrity lifestyle. Christ The King FC, the biggest junior football club in the Coventry City, runs Saturday morning soccer school and has 22 teams from under 8s to youth level in the John Bryan Coventry Minor Football League.
I am sure in a few years the young Coventry football team will be back booking the services of American Limousine Company’s  Hummers and Limos for their school prom leaving parties, not to mention if they make playing for Coventry City up at the Ricoh Arena or Aston Villa, and you never know for the England Team….
