The Prom Season In The Midlands.

Wednesday, June 29th, 2011

The Prom season is well underway in The Midlands and throughout the UK. Coventry Limo hire is supplying hummers and limos to children for their end of year school ball. The phone is literally on meltdown with people trying to get last minute hummers or limos for school proms but unfortunately most bookings were taken early in January and February.

Here at Coventry Limo we hope to add more photo’s to our gallery for our customers to view, so far members of Staff have been in and around the Midlands taking photo’s of all the beautiful prom dresses and very smart suits the lads are wearing. Last night at Heart Of England in Balsal Common the whole road was blocked with numerous 16 seater hummers, 8 Seater Chrysler 300 AKA The Bay Bentley and even a fire engine limo. On the 24th June at the Heart Of England Conference centre it was pure chaos as so many limos and even an articticulated lorry dropped revellers at their prom.

Watch this space for updates.

How Will The 2011 Budget Affect The Limo Hire Industry.

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

Here at Coventry limo we are anxiously waiting the out come of the 2011 Budget to see how it is going to effect the limo hire industry, after all fuel duty has a massive impact on small  business’s and hitting them hard, limo hire is more costly and peole do not have the money to spend. Families are finding it tough, but youngsters still have school proms, birthdays, and want to celebrate the traditional way by hiring a limo or a hummer.

Limo hire brings large groups of  party-goers out to the big City’s such as Birmingham,  Coventry and London, which in effect keeps the City’s buzzing and people spending.

Petrol prices have soared to an all time high making, The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB)  call on the government to reverse the planned 1p rise in fuel duty in the Budget  and is urging it to introduce a fuel duty stabiliser.

Coventry limo has not increased their limo hire this year so far, lets hope the 2011 budget lets it stay that way with fuel duty!

How To Choose A Good Prom Dress

Sunday, December 26th, 2010

In the United States and Canada, and the UK a prom, short for promenade, is a formal (black tie) dance, or gathering of high school students. It is typically held near the end of junior and/or senior year. It figures greatly in popular culture and is a major event among high school students. High school juniors attending the prom may call it Junior Prom while high school seniors may call it Senior Prom. In practice this may be a combined junior/senior dance. Prom attendees may be limited by their schools to be Juniors or Seniors and if guests, under age 21. Before Prom, girls will typically get their hair styled, often in groups as a social activity at a salon.

When it comes to prom, most of the girls are trying to look amazing on that day. In earlier days, you must have correct measurements of your body, when you shop for prom dresses. In these days, it doesn’t matter how you are and what size you are. There are wide ranges of prom dresses available for girls having different sizes of the bodies. You need to consider so many things while selecting the best prom dresses for yourself. First of all, you need to take some time to choose the right dresses.

Girls usually wear traditional dresses for their proms. They may purchase their prom dresses from specialized shops, boutiques, or internet retailers. There are many specialty labels selling prom dresses that release new collections each prom season. Traditionally, girls will also wear a corsage, given to them by their dates, and girls give boys matching boutonnières to be worn on their lapel.

However, there are different sizes of prom dresses available which can show off your right curves. Even though you don’t have perfect measurements, you could still look great on your prom day. One thing we need to remember is that perfect prom dresses show not only your figure but also your personality. So, a perfect prom dress means everything to you.

Most of the people don’t have too much knowledge about the purchasing the perfect prom dresses. Due to lack of knowing, some girls get the prom dresses that are too big or too small for them. If you purchase a prom dress that is too big for you, it will make you look larger than you are. There are many different styles of prom dresses out there, so you can try on most of them, and you will get perfect one for your needs. Depending on the curves of your body, most of the girls are selecting the best dresses that suit their bodies and look great on them. And also it is suggested for those girls who are having large thighs, tummy or buttocks, that the best prom dresses for them is an empire waist, which will make you look better on your prom day.

5 Tips For Choosing Your Prom Dress

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

Your school prom is often the social event of the year, a chance to relax after exams and say farewell to friends since everyone’s lifestyles changes direction. It is the ending of an era.  With that in mind a vast amount of effort will go into planning for the big day.  Getting a stylish prom dress is essential, but where do you start?

1.    Where to buy? While the prom might not be until July, major stores like Debenhams, John Lewis, Harrods and House of Fraser are selling some of the most gorgeous prom dresses. If you have a particular design in mind, it’s also possible to get individual prom garments shipped from China and the USA, but don’t overlook eBay, which is an useful source.

2.    Style: For 2010, anything appears to go; from the very straight sleek slender look, through the puffball dress to short attractive diamante dresses. When picking a style, select something that emphasises the best part of your body; What about a long length backless design or a low cut ball gown to show off your figure?

3.    Underwear: Something that  gets overlooked is combining your gown style with the right underwear. You may need to purchase a backless bra, halter neck or a crossover and don’t forget breast tape, a must for holding everything together. Be sure to purchase something that is comfortable and can be forgotten about. The High street store ‘La Senza’ sell discrete seamless underwear in a choice of designs.

4.    Colour: Having selected a style of prom dress that fits you the next thing is “what colour?” Ladies  tend to go for black, as it is extremely slimming but I think a pink prom dress is a gorgeous colour which will make any girl stand out in a crowd. Gold, lime green and red gowns tend to suit ladies  with blonde hair, where as blue purple and white prom gowns look good on dark haired girls. Redheads can dress in nearly all colours, green is especially nice.

5.    Accessories: Last but not least, part of  the fun of getting dressed up is adding those tiny extras which make all the difference to your final look. So spend a while scouting for those vital accessories like costume jewellery  and a beautiful tiara.
Once you’ve selected you promenade  dress and produced the look, you can start thinking about other things, like how you are going to get to the prom and what sort of arrival you want make. If you’re wanting to turn heads, why not hire a limousine? All your best friends can go together, be in the same place to have their pictures taken. It’s a fun way to start the evening.

Makeup and Hair Style Advice For Your School Prom

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

A good hair style is vital to your look on prom night. Your prom hair wants to draw attention to your costume, makeup, and your face. As no individual style or colour will suit every girl, the goal is to achieve a look that makes you feel more self-assured and comfortable in your self.

When it comes to our hair, the majority of us aren’t fortunate enough to have the hairstyle we dream of. However, there are loads of ways to transform your hairs length and style using extensions. Hair extensions are a fun way to transform your hair style; letting it flow down, putting it up, or curling.

The thing is to experiment in advance, so you already know precisely how you want your hair to look and how to get that look.

Prom night beauty calls for much more than basically buying a gown, footwear, accessories and your limousine hire. To stand out at your prom, you will also need to beautify and polish yourself to perfection. When developing your look, start with your eye makeup so that you can correct any errors or spills without ruining the rest of your makeup.

If your eyes are your best feature and you would like to showcase them on prom night, keep the rest of your makeup low key. Use a neutral, glossy shade for your lips, with a minute amount of cream blush for a bit of colour in your cheeks. Remember to set your makeup with a coat of loose powder designed for a long-lasting look.

If your lips are your best feature, then you can emphasise them with a scarlet lipstick. The lipstick can be bolder and brighter if your eyes are neutral. “Long-lasting” lipsticks work well, but they can dry your lips out very badly, so you’ll have to keep applying the gloss right through the evening. I believe it’s best to just use a comfortable, moisturizing lipstick or coloured gloss as an alternative.

French manicure is a must for fingernails, it works well with any colour dress footwear and make up, giving a very stylish look.
Last but not least, part of  the fun of getting dressed up is adding those little extras which make all the difference to your ultimate appearance. So in the build up to your prom, spend some time to find and organise those all important accessories. A stunning tiara will add the finishing touch to your hair whilst costume jewelery in gold or silver will go down a treat…have fun!!!!!!!
