With Christmas around the corner (and believe you me I just don’t know where the time has gone, it really feels like it has crept upon us again this year!) most of us only have two pay dates between now and the big celebration. It is worth while taking advantage of the great offers that are at the supermarkets at the moment like, 2 for 1 offer on festive cakes and the big tins of chocolates are still at a great price so it is good idea to get these kind of items in (that is if you can resist opening them till at least the lead up to Christmas!)
Think about the upcoming social events that you will be invited to or the works do that you need to get an outfit for, perhaps you have something in your wardrobe that you could jazz up a bit with some new accessories instead of going to the expense of buying a new outfit. And as Gok says, it is all about mixing a matching!
Do a list! I always find it a good idea to do a list of the people you need to actually buy presents for and set a budget, this year me and my friends and family have all agreed to buy for the children only, but some people I know who have huge families they are going to all put the same amount of money in together and so each person will be able to choose something of their desire without it breaking the bank, especially with all the new technology’s and up to date gadgets that are around these days, it stands to reason to be sensible especially when things are tight and you have to work to a budget.
My daughter is 13, and whilst she doesn’t particularly have high expectations even now, if I get her a colouring book and some new felt tips she would be occupied for longer with those than any other item, sometimes it is about realising that the simple things in life also give a great deal of pleasure and enjoyment, to be fair I don’t mind doing the odd bit of colouring or sitting together to do a jigsaw puzzle.
Christmas is after all about family and friends celebrating the birth of Jesus and even if you are not a Christian it is often the time that everyone gets together to enjoy each other’s company and be filled with the joy that the love and happiness brings to people’s lives and being able to share this special time together.
It is also quite nice to either go along to one of the many lovely garden centres who make special efforts to have a Christmas section in their stores all decorated up to the hilt with the magical Christmas trees and everything that goes with it. Keep your eyes open to when the Christmas lights switch on is happening in the Coventry area!
